Why This Putter

Milled from billet. Half the price. One hundred only.

A premium milled putter from a major brand costs A$700 to A$900, comes off a production line, and tens of thousands of others are identical to it. Ours starts at A$349, is machined and hand-finished in Melbourne after you order it, and only one hundred will ever exist — eighty-eight of which will ever be sold.

Forged, not cast

Every head begins as solid forged 303 stainless and is CNC-milled to final tolerance. Cast heads are poured into a mould. The difference is in the grain of the metal, and you feel it at impact.

Engineered weighting

An aluminium core removes mass from the centre of the head so it can be relocated to the perimeter, where it resists the face twisting on strikes away from the middle.

Made after you order

Nothing sits in a warehouse. Your putter is milled, finished and numbered once you buy it, then shipped insured and tracked, free within Australia.

You can reach the maker

Email us and you get the person who built it, not a support queue. That is the advantage of two hundred putters instead of two hundred thousand.

The Principle

You will not hit the centre every time.

When impact moves toward the heel or toe, the strike creates torque and the face twists. Where the mass sits in the head decides how much. That is not opinion — it is moment of inertia, and it is the whole reason the M1X is shaped the way it is.

The Principle

The problem isn't always your stroke.

No golfer strikes the exact centre of the face every time. When impact moves toward the heel or the toe, the force of the strike acts away from the head's centre of mass — and that creates torque.

Torque twists the face through impact. A face that twists sends the ball somewhere other than where you aimed, and bleeds energy out of the strike. It is not a failure of your stroke. It is physics.

Moment of Inertia

Weight is only half the answer.

Moment of inertia measures how strongly an object resists being rotated. Two putters can weigh precisely the same and behave completely differently through impact, because resistance to twisting depends on where the mass sits, not simply how much there is.

Mass placed near the centre contributes little resistance. The same gram moved to the outer edge of the head contributes far more. That is the entire principle behind perimeter weighting — and it is why forgiving drivers are hollow at the centre and heavy at the rim.

Two densities. One purpose.

To move mass outward, you first have to free it up. That is what the aluminium does.

303 Stainless Chassis

The structure of the head, and the surface you strike with. Dense, stable and consistent enough to hold a milled face to tolerance.

6061 Aluminium Core

Around a third the density of steel. Placed where mass does the least good — the centre — it removes weight from the middle of the head without shrinking it.

Perimeter 303 Weighting

The grams the aluminium frees up are returned to the head at its outer edges, where they contribute most to resisting rotation. Nothing is saved. It is relocated.

The Fine Print

Terms & Policies

Clear terms are part of building something properly. Here is how we work, in plain language.

Who we are. M Putters is a Melbourne-based maker of precision-milled golf putters. These terms apply to your use of mputters.com and to orders placed with us. By using this site or placing an order, you agree to them.

Orders and payment. Checkout is handled by Shopify, our payment provider. We never see or store your card details. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. An order is accepted once you receive our confirmation email.

Limited production. The first release is limited to 100 numbered putters, of which 88 will ever be offered for sale — the remaining 12 are retained by us and are not for sale. If an item sells out or we cannot fulfil your order, we will contact you and refund you in full.

Made to order. Each putter is milled and hand-finished after you order, so allow the lead time shown at checkout. We will email you when your putter is dispatched, with tracking.

Intellectual property. The M Putters name, logo, designs and site content are our property. They may not be reproduced or used commercially without written permission.

Liability. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond those rights, and to the extent the law permits, our liability is limited to resupplying the product or refunding the amount you paid for it.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.

What we collect. When you place an order, join the waitlist or book a fitting, we collect the details you give us — typically your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.

How we use it. Only to process your order, arrange delivery and respond to you. We may occasionally email you about your order or about M Putters. You can opt out at any time by replying or emailing us.

What we never do. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.

Third parties. Payments and checkout are processed by Shopify, form submissions are delivered by a form-processing service, and this site is hosted on Cloudflare. Each processes your data only to provide those services.

Access and deletion. Email us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted.

Shipping & Returns

Lead time. Every putter is milled and finished to order. The current build time is shown at checkout, and we email you the moment yours is dispatched.

Shipping. Shipping within Australia is free, fully insured and tracked. International orders are quoted at checkout. Inspect your putter on arrival and contact us within 48 hours if anything is wrong — we will make it right.

Change of mind. If you change your mind, contact us within 14 days of delivery. The putter must be unused, unmarked and in its original packaging with the headcover. Return postage is yours to cover; once it arrives back with us in resalable condition we refund the purchase price.

Your consumer rights. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality where the failure is not a major failure. Nothing in this policy limits those rights.
